College Street back open after first phase of repairs

Feb. 5, 2016

City of Enterprise Press Release:

Mayor Kenneth Boswell and Interim Public Works Director Shannon Roberts announced Friday that College Street is back open to the traveling public.

“We have worked hard to get this road back open,” Mayor Boswell said. “The Federal Highway Administration gave us permission to reopen the road after necessary repairs were made to make the road safe to travel on.”

The street was closed the week after Christmas due to the collapse of the head wall after several days of intense rain. The condition of the infra-

structure made the street unsafe for travel.

The City will continue to monitor the street and will continue with the FEMA permitting process to permanently fix the road.

“I want to thank the residents of College Street for being patient with us during this time,” Boswell said.  “I also want to thank our employees for their hard work to get this road back open.”
