City to host outdoor Movie Night April 8 at Bates Stadium
March 6 , 2016
After a busy work week, do you like to unwind on the couch, watching a movie and eating popcorn? Perhaps you enjoy a relaxing evening walk under the stars, or a fun bonding time with your spouse and kids.
If you like entertainment in a family friendly atmosphere enhanced by the wonder of outdoor beauty, “Movie Under Moonlight” may be just what you’re looking for.
Sponsored by Navy Federal Credit Union and hosted by the City of Enterprise, “Movie Under Moonlight” will be Friday, April 8, at Bates Memorial Stadium. Just bring your blankets or chairs and sit back and relax for the movie to start about sunset. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
“This event is free to the public and we will have bounce houses along with a variety of vendors there that night selling candy, popcorn, ice cream, sno cones and other food items,” said Mayor Kenneth Boswell. “Our goal is for the family to come out and to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and have a great time and watch a movie.”
Outdoor movie venues have become a family favorite in other parts of the country in recent years, and Boswell said he is happy the city is able to help facilitate a similar community activity. “I think the family is often taken for granted, and we want to help offer a nice and relaxing evening for them in a different setting,” the Mayor said.
He said the historic Bates Memorial Stadium is a perfect location to set up a special outdoor screen and have room for families, couples and groups to spread out and enjoy the show. The name of the kid-friendly film will be announced soon.
“We are grateful for Navy Federal Credit Union for sponsoring this event. They are a great corporate citizen to the City of Enterprise and this is one example of how our businesses support our community,” Boswell said.
In case of inclement weather on April 8, the alternate event date is April 29.
No coolers will be allowed inside the stadium.
