Council discusses water damage

to College Street, other roads

City gets high marks from major financing ratings agencies

The City of Enterprise has again received high ratings from the major financial ratings agencies. Moody's and Standard and Poor's have both given the city AA ratings. For more about what that means, click on the following link:

 

New city police cars to get new decals

Jan. 4, 2016

New city police cars will be sporting a different, modernized decal beginning in the next month. The new look with blue stripes and black lettering will be applied only to the new vehicles. The 17-year-old red and black-stripe design will be phased out as the city continues to replace vehicles in the next several years. For more, click on the following link:

Demolition of nuisance properties  to get under way

Twenty-nine nuisance properties are set for demolition. The city council hired a company to do the demolition, funded primarily by a $250,000 CDBG grant. Fore more, click on the following link:

City to pave access road off Daleville Avenue

Jan. 7, 2016

At its first council meeting of 2016, the Enterprise City Council voted to pave and curb the Daleville Avenue Well Site Access Road.

The dirt road is regularly used by city workers to get tot he well and a water tower. Muddy conditions have caused problems for the workers for years, city officials said. For more about the project, click on the following link:

 

During stop in Enterprise, Shelby

says national debt a critical issue

U.S. Senator Richard Shelby made a stop in Enterprise at the Farmers Market Jan. 7. Shelby, who is running for his sixth term as

U.S. Senator from Alabama, told local citizens that the national

debt is a great risk to the nation's future and he is concerned about how Congress will eventually deal with it. He spoke on a variety of other topics as well.

“Enterprise citizens will have an opportunity to review the city’s “Report Card” Jan. 28 when Mayor Kenneth Boswell delivers the ninth annual “State of the City” address.

Boswell said the upcoming “State of the City” luncheon represents more than a glance at city operations. It serves to inform, evaluate and stimulate.

“It is a report card, for me and the City Council,” he said, placing a hand on a thick stack of detailed departmental reports lying atop his desk in the mayor’s office.

“It is a comprehensive summary of what’s transpired, and what we’ve accomplished working within our departments, with community leaders and state agencies,” he explained. For more, click on the following links:

Study of proposed sewer project indicates work may be possible
