Participants in gun safety course
get hands-on experience
June 2, 2016
Constant awareness of your surroundings may be the key to saving your life one day, Capt. Michael Moore told about 18 Enterprise residents who attended the Enterprise Police Department’s Safety Awareness and Firearm Education (SAFE) Course recently.
During the two-day course, the male and female participants not only discussed safety issues and tips, but spent Saturday morning at the EPD’s gun range getting hands-on experience with how to safely handle their own firearm.
“We had an exceptional class of residents who are interested in being safe, responsible gun owners,” said Sgt. Billy Haglund. “They listened and asked questions and responded to our instruction very well.”
Haglund and Moore are getting ready to take registration for a new class beginning June 23. The course is free to Enterprise residents but will be limited to 20 people. Registration forms can be picked up at the office of Enterprise Police Chief T.D. Jones. The deadline for registration is June 17.
The Friday night session featured Moore and Haglund sharing information about how to avoid being a victim. Moore gave participants tips on how everyone can become more aware of possible dangers. For more information, click on the links below.
