A 'Movie Under Moonlight' may be just the ticket for your Saturday night entertainment
City of Enterprise Press Release - If you like entertainment in a family friendly atmosphere enhanced by the wonder of outdoor beauty, “Movie Under Moonlight” may be just the ticket for you and your family next Saturday.
The free showing of “Sing” is sponsored by Mitchell Automotive and Army Aviation Federal Credit Union, and will be hosted by the City of Enterprise Saturday, May 13, at the Enterprise Civic Center Grounds. Just bring your blankets or chairs and sit back and relax for the movie to start about sunset. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with inflatable activities ready for the children.
Snow cones, ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade and other food items will also be available for those who want to eat and relax before the movie starts.
Tourism Director Meredith Brunson said the popularity of outdoor movie venues continues to rise. The first “Movie Under Moonlight” in April 2016
was a great success, and another was planned in the fall but was cancelled on two occasions by thunderstorms.
Brunson said she and other organizers are counting on beautiful weather
this Saturday so everyone can have a great time in the new grassy
venue on the grounds next door to the Civic Center. In case of inclement weather, the movie will be shown inside the Civic Center.
Brunson is happy the city is able to help facilitate this community activity.
She thanked Mitchell Automotive and the Army Aviation Center Federal Credit
Union for their sponsorship.
“This is beautiful new outdoor setting for families to gather to watch the movie. It’s great to be able to offer opportunities for families to spend time together outside the home,” Brunson said.
The inflatable movie screen will be inflated just before dark and the movie will start at dark, about 7:30 p.m. No outside coolers and no pets, with the exception of service animals, are allowed. Admission is free.
“Sing” is an animated feature that focuses on an ambitious koala bear, voiced by Matthew McConaughey, who organizes a singing competition to raise money to restore a failing theatre. Among those coming to the rescue are a mouse, an elephant, a pig a gorilla and a porcupine. Also lending their voices to the movie are Reese Witherspoon, John C. Reilly, Scarlett Johansson and Seth MacFarlane.
