AAS breaks ground on $12 million facility

 

 

     Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley joined Enterprise  Mayor Kenneth Boswell and Alabama Aircraft Support President and Chief Executive Officer Ronnie Kearns Jan. 17 to break ground on a $12 million hangar at the Enterprise Airport.

     AAS, whose parent company is Brightwater Aviation Lender LLC of Chicago, is expected to bring 200 aircraft maintenance jobs to the Enterprise area at an average wage of $24 an hour. AAS is an aircraft repair and refurbishing company that currently primarily supports the Bell Helicopter Market.

Mayor looks back, ahead in State of the City address

   Before a crowd exceeding 500, Mayor Kenneth Boswell Jan. 23 presented an in-depth look back at 2013 at the city's accomplishments, events and activities, and reviewed the city's needs and goals for 2014.

City Council approves building code changes

City deals with hazardous potential of icy weather

Mayor Kenneth Boswell and leaders of the Parks and Recreation Department, Police, Fire, Department of Public Works and others are preparing for dangerously cold temperatues and possible snow for Tuesday, Jan. 28, Wednesday and into Thursday. The city is working with the Enterprise Christian Mission to ensure that anyone who needs a warm shelter has a place to stay during this period of time. The Christian Mission and the city's M.N. Jug Brown Recreation Center on Lee Street will be open.

ALERT: Highway 167 intersection to be closed briefly Sunday morning, March 2

Feb. 24, 2014

    Boll Weevil Circle between the intersections of Shell Field Road and Highway 84 West will be closed Sunday morning, March 2, between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.

 

    Alabama Power Company will be performing maintenance duties to electrical service in the area of Highway 167 North. No traffic will be allowed through the Highway 167 intersection during that time.

 

    Beginning at the intersection of Highway 167 and Salem Road, traffic will be detoured onto Salem Road and directed north to Highway 84 West or south to Shell Field Road.
